Smartphones and QR Codes Help Christmas Cards Deliver Special Holiday Greetings

Share Article has launched a new service which creates a simple mobile web page linked to a QR tag. The tag can be printed onto labels and added to Christmas cards. Smartphone users can scan the tag with a free app to view photos and greetings.

Friends and family will be excited to receive a card with a QR Tag.

“Combining traditional cards with smartphone technology is a great way to deliver a special, personal message,” says Paul Turner from, “and the basic service is Free!”

A mobile optimised web page can be created within minutes. The content of the page can be changed by simply logging into the site. Updating it after Christmas is also a great way of keeping in touch with people.

There is a Christmas QR Tag example on and the accompanying video shows how easy it is for the Tag to be viewed. There are also links there to App stores for a free Smartphone QR Reader.

As well as delivering Christmas messages there are lots of other great ways the service can be used. For example, adding a tag to a photo frame means that the photos can be continously updated, a newly married couple could add a tag to "Thank You" cards to show some photos and even link to a YouTube video and Clubs can keep in touch with members with news and reports.

There is also a premium version which is ideal for businesses. This version has no branding on the page, doesn’t expire after a year (the free one expires after 12 months) and the tag is a HiRes version . There are a large variety of business uses including; business cards, marketing materials, product instructions, special offers and promotions. The ability to link to a Google map is a useful feature particularly on business cards.

“However people use we hope it brings a lot of joy and happiness this holiday season!” says Paul from
