Our lifestyle programming is driven with the purpose of enriching our resident’s well-being
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 07, 2011
Thanksgiving volunteer opportunities in NYC are plentiful this year as Stonehenge Partners teams up with God’s Love We Deliver for the ‘Nuts About Giving’ food drive.
Stonehenge Partners (“Stonehenge”) is going ‘Nuts About Giving’ this holiday season, joining God’s Love We Deliver in their 2011 Thanksgiving Basket Build Day. The Manhattan-based real estate owner and operator is kicking off its Thanksgiving festivities early this year in support of God’s Love We Deliver, a New York philanthropy organization. Stonehenge views its portfolio as just a piece of the greater Manhattan community and knows the importance of supporting local organizations that bring new hope into the city.
During the first two weeks of November, residents are invited to donate 8 ounce cans of nuts in their lobbies for the God’s Love We Deliver Thanksgiving baskets. Nuts are a great source of so many nutrients and a perfect choice for bringing cheer and health to the God’s Love clients this holiday season. Stonehenge has committed to collecting 2,200 cans of these nuts for this year’s Thanksgiving baskets.
Stonehenge has additionally secured a team of Thanksgiving volunteers in NYC for the 2011 Thanksgiving Basket Build Day, which will be held on November 19th in the God’s Love We Deliver West Village facility. Stonehenge joins other likeminded corporations, including Polo Ralph Lauren, Citi Group, American Express, Audi, and Johnson & Johnson, in support of the God’s Love initiative.
The mission of God's Love We Deliver is to improve the health and well-being of men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. They prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals to people who, because of their illness, are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves. They also provide illness-specific nutrition education and counseling to clients, families, care providers and other service organizations. All of their services are provided free of charge without regard to income.
Stonehenge became connected to God’s Love We Deliver during a 2010 volunteer campaign, sending a group of residents to dice carrots and pack dinners for client’s in need. Since then, Stonehenge has encouraged its residents to become invested in volunteering and outreach. Working with charitable organizations throughout the city, including Covenant House and Broadway Kids Care, Stonehenge continues to create programming for its residents to promote volunteering in NYC neighborhoods nearby. .
“Our lifestyle programming is driven with the purpose of enriching our resident’s well-being,” suggest Michael Stern, Creative Director for Stonehenge. “We know that serving others is the key to feeling fulfilled and as the lifestyle resource for our residents, we are obliged to create opportunities for residents to gain the sense of feeling whole through the gift of volunteering.”
“God’s Love We Deliver is extremely excited to have Stonehenge Properties and their tenant community participating in our annual Thanksgiving Basket Build Event,” states Stephen Covello with God’s Love We Deliver. “Over 2,000 baskets will be packaged and delivered to New Yorkers living with life altering illnesses, providing our clients with much needed sustenance and a little holiday cheer!”
