Likened to the well-known book series compiled by Jack Canfield, Chicken Soup for the Soul, that “warms the chill and heals the ill,” author Roger Stevens’ newly published book, Words to Warm Your Heart, is a collection of poems that convey warm feelings to nourish and heal the cynicism in ones’ hearts.
“The words within this book are mile-markers along the road of my life,” Roger shares. “They have highlighted the hills, the valleys, the curves, the detours, the potholes, and yes, even the smooth well-paved stretches of my life. Some are observations of others as I stopped by the wayside on my journey just to smell the roses. Some are reflections on the generosity and blessings that God has poured out on mankind in general and on me in particular. Others mark the pitfalls I have faced.”
Although also written to delight, amuse, and instruct, the lines of the songs, poems, sermons, and conversations in this book is primarily meant to praise the living God, Jehovah, who gave the gift of poetry; and His son Jesus, who freely gave the gift of salvation.
Readers will find solace in “Words of Wonder and Praise,” “Words of Hope and Promise,” “Words of Love and Mercy,” “Words of Life and Death,” “Words of Trials and Tribulations,” “Words of Time and Eternity,” “Words of Reflection,” “Words to Ponder,” and other short and simple chapters that tell about an event, a person, or an everyday miracle that exemplifies the best of the human spirit.
