HealthMEDX’ electronic health record (EHR) HealthMEDX Vision version 7.1.10 has passed Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®) long term post-acute care (LTPAC) inspection, and is a pre-market conditional CCHIT Certified® 2011 LTPAC EHR with additional certification for both the Skilled Nursing Facility and Home Health.
CCHIT certification for LTPAC requires the EHR to demonstrate that it meets comprehensive functional, interoperability and security criteria developed by a workgroup broadly representative of the industry and designed to support primary clinical needs for LTPAC providers. HealthMEDX is also moving forward with the final step in the full certification process – verification of implementation at client sites. Clients will be utilizing the certified solution in the care of residents and patients over the course of the next several weeks to complete certification.
“CCHIT certification is a critical step in the adoption of EHR in our industry”, stated HealthMEDX Chief Technology Officer, Dan Cobb. “Vendor dedication to the CCHIT requirements for the entire long term and post-acute care industry helps ensure providers are utilizing an appropriate solution for their patient and resident care. While it took significant investment of time and resource to achieve this goal, we understood the need to accomplish certification for those using our solution.”
“Keeping up with standards, regulations, and other requirements in the LTPAC industry takes commitment”, said Charlie Daniels, President of HealthMEDX. “Obtaining this certification while also delivering on a number of regulatory and innovative items to our clients was no easy task. These types of necessary items are why we have invested in the best people possible to ensure clients have an industry leading solution.”
HealthMEDX’s next steps include moving forward with certification of HealthMEDX Vision 7.1.10 to support meaningful use in CCHIT’s ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program.
