Conference Hound partners with E-proDirect to offer cross platform smart phone app to conferences

Conference Hound, the San Francisco-based conference discovery platform today introduced its “Hound App for Organizers” ( The new product allows conferences to quickly and inexpensively deploy a comprehensive mobile app for attendees to use at conferences. Unlike certain “free” offerings in the marketplace the “Hound App for Organizers” can be deployed across all major mobile smart phone platforms and app content can be viewed by users even when they are not connected to the Internet.

Conference Hound is offering the product through a partnership with E-proDirect, the Boca Raton, FL-based hospitality marketing and technology solutions company. Under the arrangement, E-proDirect will provide Conference Hound customers with back-end support and hosting services.
“We are seeing many app developers move away from supporting Blackberry, but we see Blackberry as a major platform for the Enterprise users who make up the bulk of major conference attendees. Organizers cannot afford to disenfranchise this group. For a conference app to be effective, all attendees must be able to access the app and its content everywhere at any time”, said Conference Hound CEO, Bruce Carlisle commenting on the company’s latest offering.

Offered at a flat fee of $5,000 for under 1,000 users and $7,500 for 1,000 or more users, the “Hound App for Organizers” is a blessing for organizers who will not be required to transfer data on schedules and attendees into ponderous web forms. Instead, organizers submit their data on the Excel spreadsheets they are already familiar with. Included with each app is a hosted dashboard, available for 90 days both before and after an event. During that period, the app content may be customized at any time. Furthermore, the “Hound App for Organizers” is a native app with content viewable by the user whether they are connected to the internet or not. Conference Hound and its partner E-ProDirect also provide support required to submit the app onto the Apple store, the Android Market, The Blackberry App World and the Windows Marketplace.

Commenting on the agreement, Geri Bell, Account Executive at E-proDirect said, “We are delighted to add Conference Hound to our distribution network. The Hound’s platform for conference discovery is an excellent place for us to reach conference organizers who need an app solution that is simple comprehensive and affordable. We are looking forward to working with them on this partnership.”
