San Francisco entrepreneur launches Flip Slip foldable shoes business on Kickstarter crowd funding website. Flip Slips are brand new patented compact shoes that collapse into a pouch so they can be taken anywhere on the go.

Flip Slip Shoe Company (http://www.flipslip.com) is pleased to announce the launch of their brand new compact walking shoe line on Kickstarter. Flip Slips are designer ballet flats that look like regular shoes, but they fold up and collapse into a pouch so they can be taken anywhere on the go. The ultra compact shoes are each about the size of an iPhone and can fit into a small purse or a pocket. They are extremely comfortable, made of high-quality neoprene that is waterproof, and feature a foam instep and flexible full rubber outsole for everyday walking. They also come packaged with an expandable tote bag to carry the other shoes when needed.

Flip Slips are the perfect back-up pair of flats that every well-heeled woman needs in her purse. San Francisco entrepreneur, Esther Flatto, got the idea for a foldable shoe after experiencing the excruciating pain of walking up the hills of SF in high-heels. The inspiration for the design came from focusing on the most important attributes she wanted in the product: style, comfort, compactness and hygiene. The Flip Slip is the only shoe that folds sole to sole and has a compressible upper to cover all dirty parts—making it the most compact and hygienic product on the market.

Esther explains how she started her company, “In 2009 after losing my job, I decided to start working on my design and business. I didn’t have much money at the time, but over the course of two years I was able to build the company from the ground up. I wanted to create my own career opportunity and have been able to learn every step along the way. It has taken a lot of work, commitment and help from my community to make this huge goal a reality.”

In order to bring Flip Slip to market and expand the collection, Esther is looking to web technology to help raise the money needed for the order. By using the crowd-funding site Kickstarter.com, supporters can pre-order the shoes directly from the business at the discount price of $20 and get them just in time for the holidays.
