According to a story by CBS News, the French Medicines Agency has decided to entirely suspend the use of Actos for new patients, as well as suggesting that current Actos users consult with their medical caregivers about whether to continue use of their prescriptions due to concerns over the medications possible side effects, including serious concerns about bladder cancer. The German government has issued similar recommendations.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is currently evaluating the potential health risks of Actos.
