While others claw their way through crowds at the mall, you can simultaneously support wildlife conservation and enjoy a peaceful shopping experience with the animals at your nearest zoo or aquarium.

This year, shoppers can do their holiday gift shopping at an Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited zoo or aquarium nearest them. Gift shops are always stocked with fun toys, beautiful ornaments and unique eco-friendly products not found anywhere else.

“Spend Black Friday with a black-footed ferret or a blacktip reef shark,” said AZA Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Strategies, Jill Nicoll. “While others claw their way through crowds at the mall, you can simultaneously support wildlife conservation and enjoy a peaceful shopping experience with the animals at your nearest zoo or aquarium.”

Shoppers can get into the festive spirit by attending a holiday celebration at their local AZA-accredited zoo or aquarium. They’ll find special gifts while enjoying the Zoo lights or saying hello to Santa. Many zoos and aquariums are open 365 days a year – shoppers can find their nearest one at http://www.aza.org/findzooaquarium.

Unique, affordable holiday shopping ideas from AZA-accredited zoos or aquariums:
