Association's acclaimed property search application is now available for iPad after successful launches for iPhone and Android-powered mobile devices

"The HAR technology team has done a masterful job of making the property search tools that millions of real estate consumers use on HAR.com available to portable devices."

Fresh on the heels of its Android application launch, the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) is now making its acclaimed property search app available for the iPad. As with the Android app and the iPhone app before it, this latest app extends the wide range of innovative features that are available on the Association’s popular HAR.com website to the iPad screen.

“The popularity of the iPad made developing an app for that device a no-brainer,” said Carlos P. Bujosa, HAR Chairman and VP at Transwestern. “Starting with the iPhone app last year, the Android app that we introduced in September and now the iPad app, the HAR technology team has done a masterful job of making the property search tools that millions of real estate consumers use on HAR.com available to portable devices. We see this as a technology trifecta.”

The HAR.com iPad app allows consumers and HAR members alike to search for homes for sale or lease anywhere throughout greater Houston area. Consumers can rely on the award-winning residential property search engine to find a home, bookmark listings and view their property search history.

One of the most important features of the HAR.com apps is that they allow HAR members who subscribe to the Multiple Listing Service (MLS)—the database for property listings—to access MLS data, their leads, listings and their brokerages’ listing inventory. MLS subscribers will also have access to Agent Full Report, Property Archive Report, Showing Instructions, Days on Market and Tax Profile Report.

The 2010 launch of the iPhone application represented the first time an MLS provided access to a portable device. This was a significant boon to REALTORS®, as it enabled them to quickly and easily access property data while on the go.

Consumers and HAR members using the HAR.com mobile app enjoy the following features:

  •     Award-winning residential property search engine to find homes for sale or lease in the greater Houston area.
  •     Wide range of search filters such as by proximity, price, square footage and more.
  •     Maps that automatically refresh to display listings when one pans/moves across the map surface.
  •     MLS listing information that is updated every 15 minutes.
  •     Most comprehensive listing details include price, room dimensions, interior and exterior features, open house schedule and more.
  •     Easy slide-through photo galleries for each listing (includes up to 16 photos).
  •     Enhanced Google mapping with Street View.
  •     Ability to bookmark favorite listings.
  •     Ability to view a history of searches.
  •     Ability to quickly and easily contact the listing agent or broker.

The app also features a consumer feedback button as part of HAR’s commitment to provide tools and services that best serve consumer needs.

More than 200,000 consumers are currently registered through HAR.com to receive updates about active property listings that are of interest to them. More than 1.2 million consumers rely on HAR.com for Houston-area real estate information and account for 1.5 billion hits each month to the website.

To download the free HAR.com iPad app, visit the iTunes store and search for “HAR.com.” For all HAR mobile initiatives, go to http://www.har.com/mobile.
