Dr. Carol Francis, Psychologist, provided psychotherapy for Vietnam Vets during the late '70's-'80's, Gulf War Military Families during the '90's, and now for those returning home during these last few years. As an outgrowth of her involvement, she authored, "Re-Uniting Soldiers with Families" to help everyone transition more successfully.

"Every soldier and family member has suffered the strain of deployment and now are different people as a consequence. Some have improved themselves. Many have suffered." Dr. Carol Francis notes further, "Returning home, soldiers will face culture shock, estrangement, physical maladies, family conflicts, employment instabilities, PTSD, depression; the list goes on and one."

Dr. Carol Francis explains that "each soldier is unique in his/her way of coping with what they saw, did, didn't do and learned. Likewise, each soldier will recover in their own unique manner. Some need rest, therapy, or time with buddies. Others will heal viewing documentaries such as Jake Rademacher's Brothers At War or receiving bio-feedback assistance ([HeartMath or brainstatetech. Some soldiers will re-enlist or visit the scenes of their horrorifying memories in order to recover. Each person will need to create or discover their own path of recovery."

"Re-Uniting Soldiers with Families" is basically a guidebook helping soldiers and family members face and work through their own unique complications related to having served and now returning home.
