Fluker Farms is expanding its freeze drying cricket capacity. This capital expansion will increase the freeze drying capacity by 40%. This brings the total number of freeze dryers to 14 machines. Fluker’s recent warehouse expansion has allowed for this increase in their freeze drying capacity.
Freeze dried crickets are a popular food for pet reptiles, birds, small animals and fish. Many pet owners are not so enthusiastic when it comes to feeding their pets live insects. Therefore freeze dried crickets have proved to be a good alternative for these customers. The freeze drying process maintains the maximum nutritional value of the crickets, ensuring that pet owners are keeping their pets healthy when using this product in a varied diet.
Flukers is in the unique position of being able to grow the crickets at their facility before they are ready for the freeze drying process. Fluker Farms is one of the largest cricket farms in the United States. As the demand for crickets and freeze dried crickets rises Flukers needs to keep up with the production of both. The new space the new warehouse has provided has allowed Flukers to increase the production of both crickets and freeze dried crickets.
