Wichita college student Brandon Isaiah Moore recently spun the best “modern fairytale” with his three-minute video “Love and Track,” according to digital and direct marketing agency BKV. His reward: a $1,500 scholarship, awarded by BKV in honor of the agency’s 30th year in business.
To apply for the scholarship, students were asked to recreate a classic fairytale in a 2-3 minute video, adding a modern technology twist. Staff at the agency — which uses a blend of traditional and digital media along with direct marketing techniques and high-performance creative to grow clients’ brands and sales — determined that Moore’s video presented outstanding creativity, both in overall concept and creative execution.

A freshman at Wichita State University, Moore is a record-holding track and field athlete who has earned multiple state, regional and local championships. His appropriately themed video portrays the story of young lovers who met while running, replacing Cinderella’s iconic glass slipper with a running shoe. His major is so far undeclared, but will likely be within environmental studies, either geology or engineering.
“Choosing a track-related theme for my video made sense. We’re a family of runners — my parents found love on the track, and my siblings and I all participate in track and field events,” Moore said. “I’d really like to stay ahead in completing my credits, so I’m planning to use the scholarship for summer school classes and books.”
