Our results suggest that men can reduce their risk of prostate cancer progression after a diagnosis of prostate cancer by adding physical activity to their daily routine.

A recent study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology from the University of California (San Francisco) and the Harvard School of Public Health has proven that walking on a regular basis assists prostate cancer sufferers in lowering their risk of mortality from the disease. TrekDesk treadmill desks allow individuals to walk continuously throughout the day combating the health dangers of sedentary environments and lifestyles.
The study was comprised of 2,705 men diagnosed with prostate cancer in the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study over an 18 year period. Participants reported their weekly physical activities and durations. Those who reported walking in excess of 90 minutes per week had a 46% lower risk of dying from any cause. The study did show that participants engaging in a minimum of three hours of vigorous physical activity had an additional 61% reduced risk of prostate cancer, even when compared against those who only walked.
"Our results suggest that men can reduce their risk of prostate cancer progression after a diagnosis of prostate cancer by adding physical activity to their daily routine," stated lead author of the study Harvard School of Public Health researcher Stacey Kenfield.
“This study combined with other recent findings show that overall health is dependent on as much daily movement as possible and regular vigorous exercise that raises the heart rate as well,” stated Steve Bordley, CEO of TrekDesk Treadmill Desks.
