CIGI Names C. Scott Clark to its Operating Board of Directors

The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) is pleased to announce the appointment of C. Scott Clark to its Operating Board of Directors. Mr. Clark is President of C. S. Clark Consulting, and previously held senior positions in the Government of Canada, dealing with both domestic and international policy issues.

Mr. Clark is President of C. S. Clark Consulting, and previously held senior positions in the Government of Canada, dealing with both domestic and international policy issues.

On domestic issues, Mr. Clark served as Associate Deputy Minister of Finance from 1994 to 1997, Deputy Minister of Finance from 1997 to 2000, and Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister in 2001.

On international policy issues, he was Canada’s Executive Director to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 1989 to 1992, Canada’s G7 Deputy from 1992 to 1994, and Canada’s Executive Director to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) from 2001 to 2006. At the EBRD, he served on the Budget Committee and was also chair of the Audit Committee.

As Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Clark served as an ex-officio member on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Canada and Export Development Canada. Mr. Clark was adviser to the Independent Evaluation Office of the IMF from 2007 to 2009. From 2008 to 2010, he served as adviser to the Asian Development Bank with regard to governance issues. He is also a former Director of the Queen’s University Institute for Energy and Environmental Policy.

Mr. Clark is a frequent commentator on public policy issues on BNN, CBC and CTV. He also comments regularly on domestic and international policy issues on his blog http://www.3dpolicy.ca.
