Program provides gifts to some of Rockland County's most isolated and vulnerable residents.

With the holidays right around the corner, Home Aides of Rockland invites individuals and companies to partner with them for a very special project that will bring joy into the lives of home-bound and hospitalized seniors in Rockland County this coming holiday season.

Home Aides of Rockland is once again organizing their gift collection project “Be a Gift Angel for a Senior.” Through this effort they collect and distribute gifts to some of Rockland County's most isolated and vulnerable residents.

Beginning November 1st and ending December 2nd, Home Aides is inviting individuals and companies to be Gift Angels, by fulfilling specific gift requests to be donated to seniors coping with frailty, chronic illness or disability. The gifts are generally modest in nature and include toiletries, comfortable clothing, snacks, music and books, as well as some assistive devices. Truly, it is the thoughtfulness of the gift selection, rather than the monetary value of the gift, that is so meaningful to the recipients.

The process is simple. Home Aides will supply you with a list of requested items. Collect the gifts during the specified time period and drop the unwrapped gifts off at the Home Aides collection site in at 151 South Main Street, New City on Friday, December 2nd. Imagine the smiles and delight of the homebound neighbors who receive the holiday gifts, thoughtfully selected by you and caringly presented by our staff.

Please visit our Gift Angel page on our website at http://www.homeaides.org, call 845-634-2024 or email info(at)homeaides(dot)org. A member of our “Gift Angel” team will contact you to set a time for you to pick up an appropriate number of gift item requests to fulfill.
