Nashville, TN (PRWEB) November 12, 2011
Consensus Point CEO, Linda Rebrovick, was featured on This Week in the Boardroom on Thursday, November 10, 2011. The interview is part of a series on corporate board governance that has drawn notable industry leaders such as Denise Morrison, President & CEO, Campbell Soup Co., Philip Lochner, Former SEC Commissioner & Current Director, and Duncan Niederauer, CEO, NYSE Euronext, among others.
As the current Chair, Governance and Nominating Committee, HealthStream, Inc. Board of Directors, and as former Chair, Governance committee, KPMG LLP Board of Directors, Linda was able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience as she discussed board governance and the value of diversity among directors.
The This Week in the Boardroom interview addresses the critical need for diversity on corporate boards and ways in which boards can find top talent that is both diverse and qualified. Per Rebrovick, “The diversity of board members is important – not just a diversity of background and expertise, but also diversity of thought and experience that come from having a board that brings diversity of gender. There are many qualified candidates so the nominating committee must find and recommend the outstanding directors who meet the skills needs, bring diversity of thought, and fit within the board and company culture."
In the interview, Ms. Rebrovick suggests organizations who will locate qualified women board candidates, including Women Corporate Directors (WCD), Inter Organizational Network (ION) and its regional organizations such as CABLE in Nashville, and Women Business Leaders in US Healthcare (WBL).
During her visit to NYSE, Linda also joined John McGoldrick, Chair, Zimmer Holdings and TK Zimmer for a Corporate Board Member panel discussion focused on board governance. The panel focused on the process of serving on a board five years after passage of Sarbanes-Oxley; current board involvement in major strategic, technological, and financial decisions; and the evolution of working committees.
