What: FREE Recycling Drive – Electronics (anything with a cord); Rigid Plastics (plastic buckets, toys, lawn furniture, 2 feet in length and 40 pds or less); Paper Shredding (three box limit per person) and Plastic Bags & Film (clean, grocery, retail, newspaper, dry cleaning and toilet paper, paper towel, napkin & electronic wraps). First 500 in line receive a free Harris Teeter reusable bag. Volunteers will collect recyclables. Participants must remain in vehicles.
Who: Sonoco Recycling – collecting rigid plastics; Harris Teeter – collecting plastic bags and film; ProShred – offering paper shredding; Synergy – collecting electronics

Why: America Recycles Day is the only nationally recognized day and community-driven awareness event dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the U.S. Since its inception in 1997, communities across the country have participated in America Recycles Day on Nov. 15 to educate, promote environmental citizenship and encourage action.
