ArmedZilla, a free social network and secure online community for veterans, service members, family, friends, organizations and supporters, will deploy on 11/11/11, Veterans Day. http://www.armedzilla.com
This veteran-founded organization provides a distinctive forum where the military community can connect and support one another. “ArmedZilla will fundamentally change the way America’s military community connects. We are committed to providing our members with necessary and easy to use services that will help them in their day-to-day lives,” said ArmedZilla’s Founder and CEO, David Johnson. “After I got out of the Army I had a very difficult time transitioning to the real world. I could have benefited from a site like ArmedZilla where I could talk to those who would understand and help me navigate through some issues.”
A key objective for ArmedZilla is to aid returning warriors and veterans as they transition from service to civilian life. By utilizing one of ArmedZilla’s notable features called KeyPointsTM, a visual military profile, members will be able to share their stories and life experiences. This feature will connect members with other members based on shared experiences, relationships and relevant content. Active duty troops and veterans can share their stories, be recognized for their service and own their place in military history.
By using Channels, another feature of ArmedZilla, organizations and businesses can create Channel Pages to promote programs, products and services to the ArmedZilla community and show that they are Military ProudTM. “Our members will have access to benefits and exclusive opportunities that facilitate the transition from service to civilian life and each transition after that,” said Johnson. Channel Categories consist of: Employment, Education, Health & Wellness, Housing, Finance, Life, Veteran Support, Military and News & Entertainment.
ArmedZilla will continue to evolve and adjust to the ever-changing needs of its members. Future upgrades to features and services will provide one of a kind functionality to improve the quality of time spent on the ArmedZilla site. “We will provide our community with engaging content and establish a comfortable and trusted shared environment,” Johnson added.
