The RFID industry's largest and most important event will be held on Apr. 3-5, 2012, in Orlando, Fla., and will feature more than 50 case studies presented by leading end users, as well as solutions from more than 175 technology companies.

RFID Journal announced today that registration is now open for RFID Journal LIVE! 2012 (http://www.rfidjournalevents.com/live), the world's premier conference and exhibition focused on radio frequency identification (RFID) and its many business applications. Motorola will be the cornerstone and registration sponsor for this year's event, which is celebrating its tenth year as the industry's flagship convention.

LIVE! 2012 will be held on Apr. 3-5, at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin, located in Orlando, Fla. The event will feature four industry-specific and four level-of-expertise conference tracks, as well as eight in-depth preconference seminars and workshops, fast-track training, the RFID Journal Awards, and two co-located events, IEEE RFID 2011 and The AIDC 100: RFID and Bar-Code Co-existence. In addition, the conference will offer exhibits and demonstrations conducted by the industry's leading technology firms.

"Ten years of hosting LIVE! is a milestone for RFID Journal," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "Even more important, it is a milestone for the RFID industry. The technology has matured a great deal since our first event, and next year's conference will showcase how end users are deploying the technology and innovative solutions currently on the market."

The conference tracks will cover defense and aerospace, health care and pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and operational efficiency, retail and apparel, and technology and infrastructure, as well as how to achieve an ROI, enhance visibility and traceability, and improve supply supply chain and logistics. The preconference seminars will provide in-depth education in such areas as energy, health care and IT, and will also include RFID Journal University, the company's most popular preconference. Workshops will focus on Near Field Communication (NFC), apparel, and warehouse and inventory management, as well as security, privacy and legislation.

The first co-located event, IEEE RFID 2012, will be a series of conferences addressing theoretical, technical and implementation issues related to RF-based identification and communications systems. This conference will be sponsored by the IEEE Technical Committee on RFID (CRFID), a group specially chartered to address RFID-related issues.

The other co-located event, The AIDC 100: RFID and Bar-Code Co-existence, will focus on lessons learned under a broader array of technologies falling under the category automatic identification and data capture (AIDC).

RFID Journal plans to have much in store for attendees, speakers and vendors, in order to celebrate this milestone anniversary event. Attendees registering early will have the opportunity to save more than $600 off regular rates for the RFID industry's most important conference and exhibition.
