Argent Associates was honored as one of the 12 Corporate Member Plus companies inducted for 2011. To present the award and congratulate the honorees was Mr. Steven Miller, NMSDC Corporate Plus Chair, and Senior VP Strategic Sourcing and Procurement at The Walt Disney Company, and Joset Wright, President, NMSDC, during the 2011 NMSDC Conference and Business Opportunity Fair. The Conference theme was “Minority Business and Corporate America—Raising the Bar through Sustainable Strategies”.

Argent Associates was nominated and sponsored by Alcatel-Lucent. Lynn Scott, Alcatel-Lucent Executive Director of Supplier Diversity, recognized Argent Associates CEO, Beatriz (Betty) Manetta at the 2011 NMSDC Conference. Alcatel-Lucent is an NMSDC National Corporate Member. They work with NMSDC to help identify suppliers who have capacity, scale, and quality processes to work within their corporation. “We have embraced this program and found it to truly reflect the best-in-class among diverse suppliers. We have worked with Argent Associates for a few years. They understand our company, industry, technology and quality requirements, which ensure we lead and grow in this industry. It is very appropriate for us to acknowledge Argent Associates as they continue to work on solutions that help improve the delivery to our customers. This recognition is very much in keeping with this year’s conference theme Raising the Bar through Sustainable Strategies,” stated Ms. Scott.

The Corporate Plus program evolved from the increasing demands made by National Corporate Members to the National Minority Supplier Development Council to assist them in identifying minority businesses with the capacity for national contracts. Many corporations report they are consolidating their supplier base in an effort to control total supplier quality management and costs, while at the same time increasing partnerships with Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) that can provide creative solutions for meeting business initiatives.

“It is a great honor for us to be part of this elite MWBE’s group as Corporate Plus Member. Customers like Alcatel-Lucent truly understand partnership and work diligently to assist their suppliers to continue to grow and become value-added contributors to their companies,” stated Ms. Manetta.
