Home décor specialist Royal Home Fashions successfully hitched their wagon to a star 18 months ago, when they began offering fresh new bed, bath and window treatments from newcomer textile design house J. Queen New York. Now, as the bold new fashion-forward line of designs from J. Queen New York has been embraced not only nationally but globally, its rapidly expanding array of offerings has enabled Royal Home Fashions to dramatically ramp up the breadth and appeal of its already-popular on-line collection of traditional bed, bath, and window treatments for gracious living.

Royal Home Fashions' early insight in welcoming J. Queen New York to their family of suppliers has enabled them to build on a reputation for excellence established in 1988, when owner Paul Murley leveraged his 15 years of retail experience in home textile merchandising into a successful Memphis-based company, providing customers worldwide with an extensive array of attractively designed comforters, featherbeds, curtains, bath accessories and more.

Royal Home Fashions currently features the most comprehensive collection of J. Queen New York designs available, and offers them at what Murley identifies as very competitive prices. More than 30 J. Queen designs can be seen on the RHF on-line store and the site is preparing for more new designs to come, including an exciting group of recently-introduced and still-expanding bath accessories and original window treatments. A new line of matching fabrics will also be available in spring 2012, Murley promises.

J. Queen New York was created in 2009 by industry veteran Julie Brady and designer Jerry Mobley; their energetic new company's rapid growth has merited recent additions of new staff to meet the increasing demand for their growing line of designs, which include traditional to contemporary styles as well as groundbreaking designs so fresh and unique that they defy attempts to pigeonhole them.

"Some of our designs are purchased from the world's top art studios that specialize in textiles," Mobley explained. "But 90% of our J. Queen New York collection is created right here in house, from scratch—with fabric patterns drawn by our own designers."

The J. Queen New York team's primary objective: Bringing back quality that has been sacrificed by other manufacturers in their efforts to remain competitive, said Mobley. "The first word that comes to mind for me in defining quality is ‘detail'. All of our product is oversized, never skimpy. Comforters look and feel very voluptuous. Special touches like adding a satin binding on the bottom of a bed skirt are included, even if it increases our cost to create a better quality product."

Their attention to such small but significant details has drawn favorable notice, including enthusiastic reviews from customers who write effusive thanks to J. Queen New York for bringing back quality to the industry.

That recognition is also coming from an increasing number of major retailers who have begun carrying selections from the J. Queen New York line—Macy's; J. C. Penney's; Bed, Bath and Beyond; Touch of Class, and more.

"As a matter of fact, we just made the cover of Dillard's monthly magazine, which is very exciting," Mobley added.

Murley's decision to add the J. Queen New York line to Royal Home Fashions' collection after more than 20 years of exclusively featuring products from the well-known Croscill line of home fashions was prompted in part by the marketing climate.

"The textile industry has been hurt by horrendous market conditions," said Murley. "It suffers along with the housing market and the economy overall. We recognized that some very talented artisans and experts were succeeding spectacularly with their new enterprise at J Queen New York, and bringing a breath of fresh air to the industry. We saw this as an exciting opportunity to expand our own business by bringing J Queen New York's uniquely original offerings to our customers."
