Firm’s second data center in Denver Tech Center to address shortage of high-density colocation space and power with 82,000 square foot, Tier III facility

Latisys today announced a significant expansion to its data center presence in the Denver market with the addition of a second regional facility. After expansion and build-out, total capacity of the new high-density data center facility will exceed 82,000 square feet – more than doubling the current Latisys footprint in Colorado.

Located in Englewood, Colorado on a 6.5-acre campus, Latisys’ second Denver-area data center (DEN2) will have an initial 14 Megawatts of power and will add another 10 Megawatts in the next phase of development. DEN2 features access to a wide variety of existing redundant fiber networks, as well as multi-route, redundant fiber connectivity back to Latisys’ existing 76,000 square foot Denver-area data center (DEN1) – located just minutes away. In addition to colocation, the company’s end-to-end suite of security, network, hosting and cloud services will be deployed at DEN2 in early third quarter, 2012.

“We are expanding our Denver presence to build on our organization, know-how and momentum in the market,” said Pete Stevenson, Latisys CEO. “We continue to execute on our plan to deliver the infrastructure-based IT Outsourcing solutions that mid-size and enterprise customers require—for the challenges of today, and for tomorrow.”

“This investment is not only important for Latisys; it’s a significant capital investment in the Denver market. By adding a state-of-the-art data center and enhancing our high-availability hosting and cloud platform, Latisys is addressing a critical need for companies looking for a provider that can deliver flexible, end-to-end IT solutions,” said Bryan Walsh, Denver Regional Sales Director, Latisys. “Development of our second facility reinforces our commitment to providing agile IT infrastructure outsourcing for Colorado customers in all phases of their business.”

The data center expansion not only delivers enhanced disaster recovery capabilities for regional companies, but also provides national and global enterprises with additional multi-site redundancy and managed backup services. With multiple high-density, Tier III data center facilities across all U.S. time zones, Latisys provides unmatched scalability to enterprise customers whether they want to off-premise, off-load, optimize or on-demand their IT infrastructure.

“Latisys’ investment in the Denver market is another sign of the strong momentum we have seen that Colorado is a great place to do business,” said Su Hawk, President of the Colorado Technology Association. “Companies can feel confident that Colorado is committed to providing a healthy infrastructure and business environment to support today’s technology creators and users.”
