With TutorWhiz, we have expanded our offering to include an easy way for college students, as well as K-12 students, to find the academic support they need in order to excel.

Schools.com, a definitive digital resource for education, today announced the launch of TutorWhiz, a new tool designed to help students of all ages excel in school by connecting them with subject, grade-level and test-prep tutors. TutorWhiz will allow parents and students to search for tutors based on a number of criteria including subject, location, hourly rates and more. Users will also be able to view and request background checks, tutor ratings and provide the ability to contact the tutors directly by e-mail.

“As a parent, I know how stressful worrying about your child’s academic performance can be, and locating a qualified private tutor to help can be both difficult and time-consuming,” said Seth Restaino, Schools.com spokesperson. “We launched TutorWhiz to take the stress out of the tutor search and to help parents and kids find experienced tutors quickly and easily, and reach out to them online.”

Historically, Schools.com has been focused on helping people learn about and connect with colleges; however TutorWhiz has opened up the door for Schools.com and will allow them to provide resources for students of all grade levels, and their parents.

“For years we’ve focused on helping students find the right college. With TutorWhiz, we have expanded our offering to include an easy way for college students, as well as K-12 students, to find the academic support they need in order to excel,” explained Restaino. “It’s pretty exciting.”

Additionally, the TutorWhiz blog will provide tips, thoughts and ideas directly from tutors. Recent posts include: “3 essential tools for second grade math help,” “How do you know it’s time for a tutor?” and “3 quick memorization tricks that make studying a breeze.” To stay up-to-date with TutorWhiz and Schools.com, follow @schoolsedu on Twitter and Facebook.
