This is ProQuest’s third consecutive ranking among Top Workplaces -- – those that stand-out as ethical, caring employers with good leadership and development opportunities for staff.
Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) November 14, 2011
ProQuest, an Ann Arbor-based information company central to research and creator of award-winning technologies, is one of the best large companies to work for, according to the Detroit Free Press. The Detroit daily newspaper partnered with Workplace Dynamics to identify the metro area’s “Top Workplaces in 2011” – those that stand-out as ethical, caring employers with good leadership and development opportunities for staff. This is ProQuest’s third consecutive appearance in the Top Workplaces rankings.
“ProQuest provides challenging, interesting work, in an environment of respect for and honesty with each other and our customers,” said Kurt Sanford, CEO of ProQuest. “What we know from this survey is that atmosphere resonates with our employees and it makes coming to work a truly satisfying experience… for all of us.”
During the summer, Workplace Dynamics surveyed ProQuest’s Michigan-based employees, including those at the Ann Arbor headquarters, its Ypsilanti location and a variety of field-based workers. Employees were asked a series of questions designed to evaluate the company's direction, ability to execute its business plan, leadership, career development, work conditions, and pay and benefits. Responses were compared to businesses across the region to determine which firms qualified as a "Top Workplace."
ProQuest is best known for the creation of information tools and technologies that support research around the world in schools, libraries, universities and businesses. In September, the company was ranked by InformationWeek magazine among the top 100 U.S. firms for innovative use of business technology. The workers in its Ann Arbor headquarters represent a diverse mix of jobs, including content experts of all types—from editors to librarians—as well as technologists, marketers and sales professionals. ProQuest is a mainstay of the Ann Arbor business environment and its employees are known for their community involvement.
