Infinity Insurance has committed $1 million in funds to Florida’s Step Up For Students scholarship funding organization.

Infinity Insurance has committed $1 million in funds to Florida’s Step Up For Students scholarship funding organization in conjunction with their commitment to providing educational opportunities to Hispanic children like the company’s bilingual literacy initiative, Read Conmigo. The contribution will fund more than 242 scholarships for low-income Florida families.

The media is invited as Infinity Insurance hosts elementary students and families from La Progresiva Presbyterian School. The event focuses on reinforcing the educational advantages that accompany bilingual literacy. Second through fifth grade students, teachers and parents will have the opportunity to share dinner together and learn more about the Step Up For Students Scholarship Program and Read Conmigo, a parent-focused program supporting bilingual literacy. Read Conmigo provides parents with tools to improve their families’ reading habits and foster a lifelong love of reading. Parents and students will hear the inspiring personal story of a Step Up For Students scholarship parent and also enjoy a family-bonding story time featuring books from the Read Conmigo program. Teachers will model how to read with children and encourage parents to engage in family reading on a daily basis. Free books and school supplies will also be on hand courtesy of Infinity Insurance and Read Conmigo.

Step Up For Students (SUFS) is an initiative of the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program which provides K-12 scholarships for low-income children to attend a public or private school of choice. Scholarships are funded by corporations that redirect certain types of Florida tax liabilities to the program in exchange for a dollar-for-dollar tax credit.
