Cartoloji, retailer of iconic abstract map art prints is pleased to announce the launch of its online store, cartoloji.com. The launch is coupled in partnership with GlobalGiving, a non-profit online marketplace for global philanthropy that enables individuals, corporations, and other organizations to find and direct their funds to high impact, grassroots projects around the world. A portion of all sales on Cartoloji will be donated to different projects through GlobalGiving.
Cartoloji fine art map prints are of cities, countries, and continents. These abstract designs are cryptic and reveal as maps upon closer examination. Individuals can choose from over 100 unique affordable maps that are each customizable in a range of colors and sizes. The distinctive map prints add a unique element to home décor and appeal to design-conscious individuals who like to express their love for where they live, their heritage, or their travels. With the purchase of each print, customers give back to the countries they love – 10% of the sales price is automatically donated to charity projects specific to the map of the country purchased, through GlobalGiving.
Cartoloji is the brainchild of Indian artist Bhaval Shah Bell who has lived in Kenya and UK, and now resides in the Washington, DC area. Through her own multicultural background, she knows that individuals relate powerfully to maps of places that are important to them. “I have embraced the different countries of my heritage and where I’ve lived, and this reflects heavily in my designs. The map’s shape is the inspiration for each design. I explore maps as loose shapes to create fluid images.” The Washington Post recently described her work as “performing alchemy”.
All designs are executed with the highest standards and each map is custom-printed on museum-quality archival card stock. Cartoloji map art is available for purchase on cartoloji.com.
