Playground Poker Club continues to live up to their “for players, by players” motto with the recent announcement of the launch of the “Playground Players Club,” an elite group of celebrities from the poker and sports worlds who have been dominant in their fields, including three-time Stanley Cup champion Guy Carbonneau, and many more.
“Guy Carbonneau is the last player to take the Montreal to the Promised Land by captaining them to a Stanley Cup in 1993,” said Playground COO, David Montour. “He’s a born leader and a natural choice to be the first former NHL player named to the Playground Players Club.”
Playground hosted the NLH Faceoff in September 2011 and the event was a big hit, combining celebrities from the poker and hockey worlds for a charity tournament with appearances from hockey legends like Guy Lafleur, Mike Bossy and Guy Carbonneau and current NHL players like Carey Price, and PK Subban along with poker pros Antonio Esfandiari, Trishelle Cannatella, and many more.
The upcoming “Legends Banquet” event on December 4th, 2011 at Playground Poker Club will do more of the same all while raising money for charity once again with hockey legends and poker pros descending upon Playground to hit the felt for to benefit those in need.
“Montreal is the home of hockey’s greatest ever team and possesses an impressive and fast-growing poker community,” Montour continued. “The Players Club combines those two aspects and does it all for a great cause.”
Carbonneau joins poker pros like Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Michael “Grinder” Mizrachi, Greg “FBT” Mueller, Erik Cajelais, and more as a member of the Playground Players Club, the cream of the crop at Canada’s premier poker destination, Playground Poker Club.
