PortfolioDashboards.com (http://www.PortfolioDashboards.com), a performance tracking and management tool for entrepreneurs and their investors, has finished its private beta and is now available for use by the general public.
As seen yesterday on TechCrunch.com, PortfolioDashboards.com features a new performance-tracking tool designed for early-stage companies. It delivers standardized reporting results to investors and other stakeholders through a customizable dashboard. PortfolioDashboards.com also streamlines the reporting process for the entrepreneur, providing reminders and a simple to use report-creation wizard.
PortfolioDashboards.com is a free service for investors to track the companies in their portfolios, and offers a free subscription service for early stage startups with zero to very few investors. For more advanced startups, such as those with several investors, board members and other stake holders, there is a monthly subscription service available with plans starting at $39 per month.
Feedback received during the beta process included positive acclaim about the consistent reporting structure, and the ability to compare performance against any point in time to help investors more easily manage their investments. The most beneficial aspect reported was that investors can now access the performance of all of their portfolio companies in one central, easy-to-use location.
"PortfolioDashboards.com has been a great tool for us to use to deliver our monthly reports to our Venture capitalists, advisors, and shareholders," said Mike Henderson, CFO for Lendio.com, a company that makes small business loans simple. "We like it because it adds structure and discipline to the reporting process, and also provides a central portal for reviewing business performance over time."
The private beta phase included users from around the world, including investors (such as angels and venture capital firms) and entrepreneurs from the United States, South America, Europe, Africa, Australia and the Middle East.
“No matter where investors are based, they have always wanted better visibility and reporting about their venture investments,” said Kerry Kane, founder of PortfolioDashboards.com. “PortfolioDashboards not only provides that visibility, it provides the information necessary to help improve venture returns.”
The website provides a data input template where the entrepreneurs enter the following information on a monthly basis:
o Financial data
o Information on goals
o Qualitative information, and
This data is consolidated and reported back to investors, board members, stockholders and advisors using a dashboard as well as detailed data analysis. This enables investors to keep monthly tabs on the performance of their venture investments.
Founded in 2008, PortfolioDashboards was conceived and launched by a team of entrepreneurs who have years of experience in raising angel and venture investments and operating investor-funded companies. The mission of PortfolioDashboards is to provide a hosted platform that delivers standardized reporting results to investors and other stakeholders through a customizable dashboard as well as streamlining the reporting process for the entrepreneur, thus driving greater efficiency in the relationship between investor and entrepreneur. This includes better visibility, consistent and standardized reporting, and an easier method to compare venture investments. The founders of PortfolioDashboards believe that, in essence, the portal belongs to all of its users, both entrepreneurs and investors. PortfolioDashboards is operated out of Orange County, California, with a call center in Utah. For more information, please visit http://www.portfoliodashboards.com.
