An outstanding Hendrix concert poster was one done by Dail W. Beeghly for the Merriweather Post Pavilion concert held in August, 1968.

Andrew Hawley, from Vintage Rock Posters, attempts to find an original concert poster from every Jimi Hendrix Experience concert that took place from 1967-70 in the United States. According to Hawley, “Hendrix got his start in Europe. One of the most famous Hendrix posters - the Gunther Kieser Tour poster - was for a show in Germany. However, no posters were printed for many of Hendrix’s early European concerts. After the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival in California, Hendrix’s popularity soared. Hendrix toured America heavily and at one point performed approximately 60 concerts in 66 days. It is believed that a Jimi Hendrix Experience concert poster was made for each venue in the United States, so finding each of these posters would be a tremendous feat.”

Hawley adds, “Hendrix played absolutely everywhere from sold out arenas such as Madison Square Garden to college auditoriums like Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. Hendrix was incredibly photogenic so his image was very popular to use on many forms of concert advertisements like handbills and posters. An outstanding Hendrix concert poster was one done by Dail W. Beeghly for the Merriweather Post Pavilion concert held in August, 1968. It features a psychedelic image of Hendrix along with his band mates Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. According to Beeghly, two hundred posters were printed and hung about town to advertise the show. Beeghly also did a similar poster for the Hendrix performance at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium in Atlanta, Georgia.”

Hawley realizes that obtaining a concert poster from every Hendrix performance will indeed be an uphill battle and expensive. His offer of $3,000 cash for ANY original 1967-70 vintage Hendrix concert poster will get folks to check their attics and old basement drawers. So if you were lucky enough to have saved one of these posters, please give Hawley a call and let him know what you have! Please call 310-346-1965 and you will be paid $3,000 cash for you Hendrix poster within 24 hrs guaranteed.
