Nautel VS300 Receives FCC Certification for Low Power FM

LPFM broadcasters can now enjoy the advanced operational capabilities offered by Nautel; overview to be provided in a webinar on November 30.

Nautel Limited’s VS300 FM transmitter has been given type certification by the FCC for use in LPFM applications.

The VS300 is a solid state 300 watt FM transmitter with an integrated analog FM exciter, built-in RDS encoder, SCA encoder and stereo generator. It offers capabilities previously unheard of in any transmitter including audio over I/P, Axia Livewire support, web remote, Nautel’s exclusive Advanced User Interface (AUI), an easy upgrade path to digital operation, and “Push Radio” functionality including audio storage, scheduling, playlists and automation. Other products in the VS Series include the VS1 (1 kW) and the VS2.5 (2.5 kW).

Nautel will offer a Webinar at 12:00 Eastern time on Wednesday, November 30 to give low power FM broadcasters a “tour” of the VS300 and its capabilities. “When you only have a few watts to work with, every watt counts and the unique functionality of the VS300 helps you do just that,” said Chuck Kelly, Nautel Director of Sales. “During our live tour, you will learn about the built-in capabilities of the VS that include instrumentation, sophisticated presets, local audio storage, IP audio I/O, automated backup, local playlists, a scheduler, and even an option for built-in Orban audio processing.” Kelly noted that he recently set up a community radio station using a VS300.
