MED3OOO, a national leader in healthcare management and technology products and services, congratulates its client, Ped-I-Care, based in Gainesville, FL, for being named the Fred Graham Award winner for Innovation in Improving Community Health by MGMA and ACMPE.
“The Fred Graham Award is bestowed on healthcare organizations that have developed activities and solutions to advance the effectiveness of healthcare delivery and improve community health,” said Patrick Hampson, Chairman and CEO of MED3OOO. “For the last eight years, Ped-I-Care has done an outstanding job serving the needs of thousands of special needs children from low-income families in Florida. The Ped-I-Care team is well-deserving of this honor and should be proud of the contributions they’ve made towards improving the health of special needs children in their community.”
Ped-I-Care is a health plan for special needs children operating under the auspices of the University of Florida College of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics. It functions under a contract with the Florida Department of Health’s Children’s Medical Services Division and provides care to children with special healthcare needs from the ages of one through 18.
Since November 2003, Ped-I-Care has helped thousands of special-needs children from low-income families receive the healthcare services they need. The program now serves 23 counties in the north Florida area. The children who are served by this program, along with their families and their providers, are highly satisfied with their participation and, as a result, the program has been able to responsibly expand and realize continued success. The levels of success have continually improved with every audit, survey, and research project conducted. (http://www.mgma.com/about/default.aspx?id=1368146)
