I believe in doing the impossible. For a girl who used to be over 370 lbs., completing a marathon is impossible. On March 20th, I achieved the impossible and it was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life.

Beit T'Shuvah’s “Run to Save a Soul” campaign is currently on track to reach their $125,000 goal at next year’s Honda LA Marathon. The campaign, now in its third year, anticipates raising funds that will contribute to the organization’s ongoing mission: To provide treatment for anyone seeking help regardless of their ability to pay.
Forty-eight runners -- many of who are residents in recovery at the treatment facility -- are training and fundraising for next year’s event, which takes place March 18, 2012. For these dedicated souls, most of whom are first-time marathoners, the challenge of completing a 26.2-mile race is an apt analogy for overcoming adversity and finding the determination within to accomplish great things in their lives.
This year, Beit T’Shuvah is one of the charities to hold “two-person” team entries for the LA Marathon. As a testament to teamwork and one person helping another, a member of the two-person team will run the first 13.1 miles to a transition zone, where their partner will take their place and complete the second half of the journey to the finish line, where they will receive their medals together. You can still register as a two-person team through Beit T’Shuvah.
Corporate sponsorships are available at levels ranging from $2,500 on up to $25,000 and offer a wide range of exposure opportunities. Interested companies can even develop a custom sponsorship plan with Beit T’Shuvah to suit their strategic corporate visibility needs.
As of November 16th, there are six participants who have already raised the minimum of $1,000. The remaining 42 still need the support of the community to reach their goals. Every single donation, from $1 on up, help further Beit T’Shuvah's mission. Last year, Beit T’Shuvah ranked 4th out of 70 participating charities, raising $118,000. This year's goal of $125,000 is ambitious, but with the help of individuals, two-person teams, and corporate sponsorships… this goal will become a reality.
