CRC's VelociTRACKER™ Software as a Service Celebrates Exceeding 3,000 Android's in the Field

Recently CRC’s user base enabled its three-thousandth Android user. Today, with more than 3,000 Androids in the field, the results are in: CRC’s clients find value in the Android platform for the VelociTRACKER™ field service merchandising solution.

Android smart phones and tablets enjoy huge popularity among consumers, and people who work as field merchandisers are also consumers. Therefore, many merchandisers own Android phones – and those who don’t are often happy to obtain them if necessary for work.

VelociTRACKER™ clients are responsible for merchandising, sell-thru, resets, demos, new-store & store-closing, store construction, and many other store-related tasks all targeted at helping manufacturers and retailers to increase sales and reduce costs. VelociTRACKER™ clients hire people to work in actual retail stores, and many of these people have no office – but instead do all of their work ‘on the road’ as they travel from store to store.

These workers need a way to:

  •     apply for work
  •     accept work assignments
  •     see their schedule
  •     Request changes to their schedule
  •     obtain driving directions to their scheduled stores
  •     receive any materials (instructions, pictures, etc.)
  •     obtain training in the form of videos
  •     take tests to ensure competency before starting a job
  •     obtain many other details that are information related

In addition, these field workers need a way to see which products they are responsible for touching, report critical information such as:

  •     Number of facings
  •     Number of products authorized for the store but not being sold in the store
  •     Number of out-of-stocks
  •     Linear feet of shelf space
  •     Competitive information, including pricing
  •     Answers to routine survey questions
  •     Verification of promotional and routine service
  •     Store management approval and verification of visits

Finally, field managers need a way to track and verify all of the above in while also traveling between stores, as well as to audit the work of their direct reports by seeing the data that was actually reported (including photographs) on their own device while in a store – and comparing reported work to actual conditions for a report to upper management.

The Android platform enables the VelociTRACKER™ software to implement all of the above on many devices from smart phones that fit in a pocket to larger tablets which make viewing reports easier.
