RADIUS, a leading provider of global travel management solutions, announced today that Roger Pfund and Richie Karaburun have joined the company to lead Asia Pacific operations and Global Supplier Relations, respectively.
RADIUS has tapped Pfund as General Manager, Corporate Sales and Client Services for Asia Pacific. Pfund brings to RADIUS more than 15 years experience leading and managing corporate client sales and management teams in the region. He has previously served in senior positions at Lufthansa, American Express, BCD Travel and, most recently, as CEO and President of Fursan Travel, a leading Middle East travel company and a RADIUS member agency. Together with RADIUS SVP Alan Liu, a growing Asia Pacific team and 16 agency members spanning from Japan to New Zealand, Pfund will continue to strengthen the RADIUS corporate travel management offering in the rapidly growing Asia Pacific region. He will report to RADIUS President and CEO Chris Vasiliou.
Karaburun joins RADIUS as Vice President, Global Supplier Relations, and will oversee the continued expansion of the RADIUS Global Hotel Program as well as initiatives across other supplier categories. With nearly twenty years travel industry experience, Karaburun comes to RADIUS from Gullivers Travel Associates, where he served as President of GTA North America, with responsibility for sales, sourcing, marketing and operations. In his new role, he will lead the Global Supplier Relations team that is growing significantly, especially in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, to meet the demand of industry suppliers for participation in the RADIUS Global Hotel Program and other RADIUS partnerships that drive sales through the global RADIUS agency network. Karaburun will report to RADIUS Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President Shannon Hyland.
“I am excited to join the RADIUS team and help further accelerate our supplier relations efforts,” said Karaburun. “The 12 million room nights our network is generating for the RADIUS Hotel Program partners is just the beginning. We have enormous upside globally for the program as well as a huge opportunity to bring our innovative partnership approach to major suppliers in other categories.”
Said Pfund, “RADIUS brings to multinational companies a unique travel management model that blends the very best of global sales and account management with outstanding local support and service. I look forward to working with all of our member agencies to deliver the best regional and global travel solutions to our clients throughout Asia Pacific.”
RADIUS CEO Chris Vasiliou noted, “The addition of Roger and Richie to the RADIUS team is further indication of our strength and momentum in the corporate travel management market. These are experienced, creative, can-do professionals who will add great leadership in areas of significant growth for the RADIUS network.”
