Saudi New Zealand Milk products is based in Dammam, in the Eastern Province in Saudi Arabia and is 49% owned by Fonterra. They supply feta and sachet cheese and canned milk products to the majority of the GCC Countries in the Middle East and across Africa.
The Speechbubble ® team met the management team of Fonterra on a trade mission, organised by Invest NI, the local regional development agency of Northern Ireland, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia earlier this year. During the meetings Fonterra expressed their issues in communicating with and training a multi-language workforce that speaks many different languages for example Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Tagalog, and the importance of delivering suitable induction and safety training to ensure the plant runs safely and smoothly.
The problem arises when training is predominantly produced and delivered in one language and the recipients of the training may only have a basic grasp of that language. Speechbubble’s unique Flick to a Flag ® software platform is designed with exactly such challenges in mind, enabling trainers and management to display multi-language training content and resources, simultaneously, in the language of each and every member of the audience, a simple but effective solution to a growing problem.
John Hill, CEO of the team behind Speechbubble said “...Fonterra are experiencing what is essentially an increasingly common problem as a result of cultural and economic shifts worldwide. Companies are choosing to and are even forced to operate with diverse multi-language workforces and this presents difficulties in both origination and delivery of training programmes. Our Speechbubble software is a simple visually operated system allowing multi-language training programmes to be developed and released to such workforces, thus ensuring lower origination costs, and legal compliance with any “own language” training requirements. When we showed them a demonstration, they were immediately interested to know more.
The innovative content management system for multi-language translated material will be deployed as a smartphone app on tablet computers to deliver formal and “refresher” training where it’s most needed, out on the factory floor. Speechbubble have also worked with the company to introduce strong brand awareness to their in house safety campaigns, using the unique and powerful illustrative design styling that is a core part of Speechbubble’s Safety Talks range of products. Fonterra’s new scheme will feature new and a few existing safety characters based on the now well-known Safety Talks character Chad.
The award winning SpeechBubble engine can be deployed in the same way to a vast number of varying applications. To date the software has been used by clients in sectors such as industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, environmental, oil and gas, telecommunications and education on sites from Ireland to South America and Australia. The software can be used for deploying and delivering training, awareness, sales and marketing and educational messages to multi-language audiences of workers, customers, patients, distributors on web, on USB drive and on smartphone/tablet technology.
The team at Speechbubble claim to deliver “Any Message, Anywhere, on Any platform.
