After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Harris, N.Y., has hired Frederick H. Kuriger, FACHE to fill the role of chief executive officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with more than 30 years of senior leadership experience, Kuriger will assume his new duties at CRMC on December 30, 2011.

The main campus of CRMC in Harris offers a wide range of healthcare services, including emergency, surgery, a birthing center, adult day healthcare, skilled nursing unit, cancer care, a bio-chemical dependency and mental health unit, wound care, rehabilitation, cardiac and cardio-pulmonary care, a blood bank, laboratory and imaging. The organization also provides community health services at its Grover M. Hermann Hospital Division in Callicoon.

Prior to joining CRMC, Kuriger served as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer/Corporate Responsibility Officer at Seton Health System in Troy, N.Y. His career has included senior leadership positions at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, N.H.; Stamford Health System in Stamford, Conn.; and Bradley Memorial Hospital in Southington, Conn.
Kuriger is a graduate of Tufts University in Medford, Mass. He completed a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Connecticut in Stamford and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass. Kuriger is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
