Nonprofit Foundation, Greatest Generation Aircraft, Offers Fun Flight

Greatest Generation Aircraft offers a unique Christmas experience that can help give history a future!!!. Starting Nov. 25 through Dec. 31, Christmas Light Night Flights in a vintage WWII C47 airplane are being offered nightly from 6-9 pm. The proceeds from these flights go toward the fuel/maintenance costs of the actual flight, and the remainder of the funds will go towards the restoration/maintenance of other vintage military aircraft.

"We have two restoration projects, our A26K and CG4A Waco Glider, that will be the only aircraft of their kind flying in the world," said Dana Wood, Public Relations Director for Greatest Generation Aircraft. "We strive to offer the public a unique opportunity to have a great time, create a new family holiday tradition, and at the same time help give history a future."

There will be hot chocolate and cookies at the hangar for before or after the flight, there's several vintage aircraft to look at inside the Vintage Flying Museum hangar, which is where the flights are conducted. It's a very festive event that also allows for a history lesson, aviation lesson...and of course an opportunity to see Christmas lights as they have never seen them before!!! Children age 6 and younger may fly for free in the lap of a paid adult. It's a 40-minute flight experience (10 minutes of a safety briefing/historical overview of the plane, 30 minutes in the air).

Flights begin on Nov. 25 through Dec. 30, and are offered at 6,7,8 and 9 pm. Normally $200, there are several social media outlets and advertisements offering the rides for discounted prices.

Greatest Generation will also host media on Thurs and Friday, Dec. 1 and 2, if you'd like to send a member of your organization out to experience this flight first hand, please contact Dana Wood at 817 659 9249 to reserve a seat. Cameras/video equipment are allowed on all flights!!!
