TWB's eMACS mobile ammo disposal units meet California EPA, NATO and EU standards

North Loudoun Corporation announced today that it has signed an agreement with TWB Designs of Ontario, Canada, to represent TWB's award-winning ammunition disposal technology systems in the U.S. and Denmark. TWB manufactures a patented and environmentally effective system for disposal of ammunition and demilitarization, the Mobile Ammunition Combustion System, "eMACS." During operation, the eMACs first burns the explosive, then melts and separates the remaining lead and brass for recycling. About 97% of recyclable materials are recovered, so that a customer processing 1000 pounds per day will typically earn about $1000 from recycling fees. The eMACS units process military ammunition up to 50 caliber, and can also safely dispose of marine flares and pepper spray dispensers.

TWB's eMACS system is a mobile, military-spec unit which meets California Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), NATO and European Union standards for environmental air handling. The eMACS uses HEPA filtration and other proprietary air handling and technologies to ensure environmental and operator safety. The units can be taken directly to a disposal site, which eliminates the need to transport the ammunition or ordnance. By eliminating the need for a user to transport of hazmat such as expired ammunition, eMACS brings a considerable advantage to the owning agency, department or company.

TWB's disposal units have been in use since 2001 by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, multiple law enforcement agencies in Canada, as well as ammunition manufacturers in the United States. Several units are in operation abroad, including the Arabian Gulf and southwest Asia. The eMACS is ideally suited for disposal of excess or expired ammunition, as well as that which may be captured by law enforcement in anti-terrorist or Department of Defense operations.
