Podio was nominated for a Europa by an advisory board of leading European VCs and journalists, and elected to the finals in a contest resulting in over 40,000 votes.
"We are extremely proud and happy for this recognition of both our product and our vision for the future of work," said co-founder Jon Froda, after being presented with the award at a ceremony held at Carbon Bar in London's West End. "Most importantly, we thank our customers for making the future of work a reality by building or modifying thousands of apps on the Podio platform since our launch."
Described as a platform for "citizen developers" by the BBC and a "replacement for all your project management tools," by Mashable, Podio has already been used by tens of thousands of teams and small business to execute projects, organize events, manage customer relationships, and perform all of the everyday tasks required to get work done.
"We have build an amazing team that will keep working hard to empower people around the world to take charge of their own work tools," said Podio CEO Tommy Ahlers. "This award reassures us that we're on the right track building a social, rich, and transparent work platform for the future of work, and we're proud to receive this recognition of our work and vision."
