With DataPros and 1SYNC, we bring the world's most accurate data source into our ERP and EDI transactions to serve as the backbone of our world-class supply chain.

Westchester Medical Center is implementing the 1SYNC and DataPros DataSync(SM) product for GS1 standards and data synchronization, the two technology companies announced today. The hospital expects to improve its supply-chain efficiency with the solution in support of its world-class patient care.

Westchester Medical Center is a member of MedAssets, a healthcare group purchasing organization that is a member of the GS1 Healthcare US Initiative. 1SYNC, a leading global data pool and product-information management company, and DataPros for Healthcare, a leading data-cleansing company, are implementing a joint DataSync product, a MedAssets-approved contract option for implementation of GS1 standards.

"We always challenge ourselves to have the best supply-chain processes, with a sharp focus on driving waste out of the system," said Roger Weems, Senior Vice President of Performance Management, Westchester Medical Center. “One key strategy has been ensuring completeness and accuracy of our data. With DataPros and 1SYNC, we bring the world's most accurate data source into our ERP and EDI transactions to serve as the backbone of our world-class supply chain. It's a straightforward approach with a clear positive effect.”

The Initiative is a group of more than 130 healthcare organizations driving the adoption of GS1 standards to provide hospitals with complete, accurate and up-to-date information about their suppliers and the products they purchase. This helps to generate a wide array of supply chain efficiencies such as improved order and invoice processes; accurate contract pricing and rebate processing; improved service levels/fill rate; and improved inventory management.

“The combination of 1SYNC data pool services with DataPros’ connectivity, catalog filtering, optional attribute fulfillment and data integration with Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS) has proven to be a winning combination for hospitals,” said Dan Wilkinson, Vice President, 1SYNC.

“GDSN brings in a wealth of data for hospitals to maximize their efficiency and eliminate errors in their supply chain data,” said Allen Esses, President, DataPros for Healthcare. “We help them tailor the use of GDSN data to better manage their supply chain. And Westchester’s implementation of DataSync demonstrates their commitment to supply chain excellence in support of their industry leading advanced patient care.”
