With more than 600,000 small businesses in the Tri-State Area, clearly they are vital to our communities and play a key role in the overall health of our economy.

Bethpage, New York (PRWEB) November 22, 2011

Cablevision System Corporation’s Optimum Business today announced its participation in the second annual Small Business Saturday® on November 26, 2011. Small Business Saturday is a day for dedicating a portion of holiday shopping to local, independently owned small businesses. In support of the program, the company is engaging with employees and business customers through various tactics including web, newsletters and email to encourage consumers to shop small.

Optimum Business recognizes the importance of small businesses in the Tri-State Area, the jobs they help create and the culture they instill in local communities. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, more than half of Americans either own or work for a small business and small businesses create 60-80 percent of new jobs in the country.

“With more than 600,000 small businesses in the Tri-State Area, clearly they are vital to our communities and play a key role in the overall health of our economy,” said Stephanie Anderson, vice president of commercial marketing for Cablevision. “First there was Black Friday. Then, there was Cyber Monday. And, now there is Small Business Saturday. We are happy to be part of this exciting initiative delivering on our commitment to help small businesses thrive and encourage everyone to pledge to ‘Shop Small’ this Saturday, November 26.”
