Chicago based digital agency, MA Interactive Group, continues their work with well-known Chicago restaurant group, Wildfire. MA's most recent Internet marketing program for the restaurant extends and expands upon its mobile marketing website and now includes an event QR codes program.

As the number of people with smartphones continues to escalate, marketing to the mobile customer is becoming increasingly more crucial.

MA Interactive Group, an Internet marketing firm from Chicago, IL continues its' work with popular Chicago Restaurant Wildfire. MA has already worked with Wildfire on several different marketing projects beginning with the design and development of Wildfire’s current website. Since then MA has continued working with Wildfire on a variety of Internet marketing programs including PPC Advertising and local search. Most recently, MA created a mobile website for Wildfire, and now, to leverage this new mobile marketing asset, MA has created a QR code program for the restaurant.

As of July 2011, ComScore reported that 82.2 million people in the U.S. owned a smartphone. This percentage was up 10% just from the previous month. The amount of people on the mobile Internet is growing at a tremendously fast pace. Wildfire well aware of this trend and has begun to cater towards the wants and needs of the mobile customer. "As the number of people with smartphones continues to escalate, marketing to the mobile customer is becoming increasingly more critical to the marketing mix. Employing QR codes is an important first step in this evolutionary process", said Mike Templeton, principle at MA Interactive Group.

The QR code program works in conjunction with Wildfire’s new mobile site. The codes are used for a variety of purposes and are located in an assortment of locations throughout Wildfires many restaurants in Chicago and it’s surrounding suburbs. Wildfire has placed the QR codes on everything from posters, to tabletops, to windows. The QR codes help Wildfire to endorse any upcoming events and promotions in order to keep customers “in the know” with the ultimate goal of increased customer participation in store events and promotions. The program gives Wildfire an opportunity to to interact with their guests all the while generating buzz for the restaurant and creating a unique experience for the diner.
