Hannibal Regional Hospital Hires New CEO

After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo., has hired Lynn Olson to fill the role of chief executive officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with more than 30 years of senior leadership experience, Olson will assume his new duties at Hannibal Regional Hospital on December 5, 2011.

Mr. Olson’s strong background in hospital operations will be of great benefit as he joins the rest of the Hannibal Regional Hospital leadership team in continuing to expand healthcare resources to our service area.

Smith, Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, Mo., has hired Lynn Olson to fill the role of chief executive officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with more than 30 years of senior leadership experience, Olson will assume his new duties at Hannibal Regional Hospital on December 5, 2011.

He has demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, financial management, physician relations and a collaborative relationship management approach,” stated John C. Hannibal Regional Hospital provides a wide range of healthcare services to surrounding communities, including cardiology, orthopedic surgery, emergency, intensive care, medical imaging, pediatrics, rehabilitation, laboratory, pharmacy and nationally recognized home health services. The organization also provides specialized care at the James E. Cary Cancer Center, Chris Coons Women’s Care Center and Hannibal Children’s Center.

Prior to joining Hannibal Regional Hospital, Olson served as CEO at Sanford Regional Hospital Worthington in Worthington, Minn. His career has included CEO positions at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa, Iowa, and Regina Medical Center in Hastings, Minn., as well as chief operating officer at Monticello-Big Lake Community Hospital District in Monticello, Minn. Olson completed a master’s degree in health services administration at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill.
