Battery Giant and local franchise owner, Ray Cutway, are helping the Detroit Zoo’s green efforts this holiday season by sponsoring the Detroit Zoological Society’s Green Team with the donation of a Plug & Play solar-powered generator to light up one of a dozen trees during the Zoo’s annual “Holiday Trees” display. “Producing electricity from the sun, this out-of-the-box generator is inexpensive, and is the ideal green power solution for providing continuous electricity with absolutely no noise or emissions, plus it’s portable and simple to use”, comments Ray about the generator. “It’s my pleasure to donate this unit during the holidays to help the Zoo in their efforts to be green.”

The Detroit Zoo kicked off the holiday season with its annual “Holiday Trees” display as part of the Zoo’s Wild Winter Celebration which runs from November 19th through January 2nd. Each tree in the display has a different theme and style and is sponsored by a local business or organization. Battery Giant is proud they are able to contribute to the Zoo and its visitors with a gift of sun-sponsored lighting this holiday season. ”As more entities try to reduce their energy costs, solar products like this Plug & Play generator for the Zoo can provide viable options. Battery Giant is proud to support our local Detroit establishments, including the Zoo, who are making an effort to capitalize on energy saving opportunities”, says Battery Giant President, Greg Danziger.
