Tri-Rail, South Florida’s commuter rail with train service to Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach, now offers discounted fares for high school and college students across South Florida. Student rates on Roundrip and Monthly tickets are up to 50 percent off regular ticket prices.
Students with valid identification may take advantage of the Tri-Rail student discounted rates in a number of ways. They must obtain a discounted fare EASY Card from the station agent at either the West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach or Metrorail Transfer Station and have their photo affixed to it. This provides a 50 percent discount on One-way, Roundtrip and Monthly Passes; or EASY Card can be loaded with cash value and have the price of a discounted One-Way Pass will be deducted per trip.
Tri-Rail offers connecting shuttle service from the train station to most of South Florida’s largest colleges and universities, including Broward College, University of Miami, Miami-Dade College, Palm Beach State College, Florida Atlantic University, and Nova Southeastern University. There are also stations and stops near many of the high schools in the area.

Students ages 13-18 may present a driver's license, Florida State ID Card or an ID card distributed by a middle or high school to receive the discounted rate. College and vocational students must present an ID that includes a photo, or be accompanied by photo ID. For other acceptable forms of identification, students should visit the commuter rail system’s website to learn more about Tri-Rail’s discount policy .
