Abdominal Etching® gave me the abdominal muscle definition I was never able to achieve through working out.

Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Henry Mentz’s innovative Abdominal Etching® procedure, which gives a patient six-pack abs muscular definition, recently received national attention when the CBS television show Inside Edition spotlighted the procedure and the progress of the college student who received it.
The show featured Travis Mosher, a 26-year-old MBA student and patient of Dr. Mentz, who chose to have Abdominal Etching® to obtain the washboard abs he was unable to achieve despite working out each day, dieting, and eating protein shakes.
In the procedure, Dr. Mentz first marks the patient’s abdominal structures while the patient is standing with muscles flexed. Then, using a thin hollow cannula tube, the surgeon thins the abdominal fat pad through liposuction to reveal the muscles beneath. Using the markings as a guide, he then outlines the muscular structures to make them more prominent.
The procedure takes an hour or less, after which the patient can return home. Results are typically long-lasting provided that the patient follows good eating and exercise habits to maintain a reasonable weight. That’s not a problem for Mosher, who says the desire to maintain his new athletic look has led him to supercharge his workout routine.
“All I want to do is work out now because I’m motivated to maintain the results. Before I would do sit-ups and running, but I was never able to achieve any definition that would shine through. Abdominal Etching® gave me the abdominal muscle definition I was never able to achieve through working out.”
Mosher is glad to be back to his exercise routine after a recovery that he describes as “not bad at all.” Though the first two days after surgery, he mostly rested, the student was back to classes the following week, and his regular exercise routine within five weeks.
The experience of working with Dr. Mentz and his staff was “first class,” said Mosher. From the postsurgical therapeutic massages to their promptness in answering any questions he had, “they were quick to take care of me.”
Dr. Mentz invented the Abdominal Etching® (Ab Etching®, Ab Etch®) liposuction technique in 1992 to create more visible muscular definition in the male torso. The procedure is designed for individuals who are relatively fit who desire a leaner, chiseled abdominal appearance. Dr. Mentz developed a modified Abdominal Etching® method for those who have higher body fat levels above 20 percent.
Since its introduction, Abdominal Etching® has garnered international acclaim. Dr. Mentz, who is considered a world authority on the procedure, has presented the technique to plastic surgeons around the globe and teaches a popular course on the specialized lipocontouring technique to physicians at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's annual meeting.
