With family and friends coming over during the holidays, finding adequate parking is usually a challenge. In residential properties such as an apartment or town house, vehicle owners tend to park in areas they normally wouldn’t, such as a red zone, in front of a garage or even over extending guest parking privileges. The holiday excitement creates a lapse in memory and time for many. When these visitors try to leave, their time is often ruined by finding out that their vehicle was towed.

“In most cases, the authorized person requesting a tow simply wants the vehicle moved and usually resorts to a tow when the vehicle owner cannot be located,” says Jason K. Bordbar, President of CBT Solutions, Inc. “Our valuable service attempts to prevent the tow altogether and is allowing the holiday spirit to continue on by letting vehicle owners focus on sharing time with their families instead of dealing with the stress associated with a costly tow.”

Vehicle owners place a preprinted identification decal displaying "CALL BEFORE TOW" inside the lower corner of the driver's side windshield. The decal contains a phone number and a unique identifying subscriber code. In the event that the vehicle holder can not be located and is about to have his or her vehicle towed, the decal allows the authorized towing party to call the number imprinted on the vehicle’s decal instead. A call center takes over and vehicle owners subsequently receive a phone call and text message warning them to move their vehicles to avoid the tow. The whole process takes less than a minute. If the owner cannot be located or can’t move his/her vehicle and a tow is necessary, then the Call Before Tow TM service will attempt to tow the vehicle using one of its discounted tow affiliates.

“During the holiday season, people are visiting and innocent mistakes can occur because they may not be accustomed to the parking rules. Others may just momentarily drop in for a quick hello and overlook a posted sign,” says John Harris, Senior VP of Operations for CBT Solutions, Inc. “Towing during the holiday season is at an all-time high and can be considered peak season. A typical tow costs vehicle owners over a $150, and doesn’t include the stress and headaches associated with that tow.”

The special holiday edition of the Call Before TowTM permit covers 2 Vehicles for the price of one at $29.95 for the year. It comes with unlimited alerts for each vehicle. The service covers vehicles on private property such as an apartment complex, town house or other residential and commercial areas. There is also a separate service for larger entities such as rental car agencies and transportation industries that oversee a sizable fleet of vehicles.
