Estrada Beisbol, Inc., the inventor of The Hitting Jack-It™ System, the leading variable weighted hitting system, announced today that it has named Mike Ortega, a proven market acceleration specialist, to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Ortega had served as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the last two years and is currently a member of the Board of Directors. Previously, from 1998 to 2009, Ortega has held CMO and CEO roles with several venture-backed firms such as DermaTech Research, En2go and XUMA, respectively. Prior to 1998, Ortega spent 19 years in the telecommunications and computer industries where he held increasingly senior management positions in sales with MCI and Hewlett Packard.
“Mike and I started working together on the Hitting Jack-It™ System about two years ago and the plan all along was to have him become CEO at the right time,” said Marco Estrada Jr., the company’s founder and inventor of the system. “Now is the time when we need Mike’s experience and professionalism to secure financing and get us to the next level of revenue growth. With his leadership, we are positioned to hit it out of the park.”
Commented Ortega, “I have known the Estrada family for more than ten years and, when I heard about the Hitting Jack-It™ System, I just knew I had to get involved. As a former baseball player at UCLA, I knew instantly that this product will change the way ballplayers train. I am honored that the Estrada family trusts me with this venture and I am looking forward to the time when all baseball and softball players are using our products world wide.”
