Responding to surge in sales of its classic mock, luxury retailer St. Croix Shop donates to non-profit organizations to fight cancer as a tribute to Steve Jobs.

As a result of remarkable popularity of St. Croix Shop’s iconic black mock (http://www.stcroixshop.com/stcroix/product.asp?s_id=0&pf_id=PAAFICJMFFCOELJI), the retailer presented a limited time offer to donate $20 from each sale of their American-made classic black mocks to support the ongoing fight against cancer.

St. Croix Shop selected the American Cancer Society to receive the funds, which resulted in an initial donation of $7,500. “We commend the generosity of our customers who responded to our 10-day program in October, 2011, and in the spirit of that generosity, we have upped our donation to $10,000 toward the American Cancer Society,” stated Bruce Amster, director of stores for St. Croix Shop (http://www.stcroixshop.com). In addition, the retailer has donated $2,500 to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, as well as donated $2,500 to the Minnesota Medical Foundation for the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota, with each gift to be directed toward pancreatic cancer research. “We recognize that November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re proud to support these organizations,” Amster said.

The thirteen independently owned St. Croix Shops across the United States feature luxury men’s knitwear, which is handcrafted by Knitcraft Corporation in Minnesota. Seasonal sales of the black mock are up in excess of 800% and are still continuing strong. Though it is the iconic black mock “Style 1990” that has been making headlines, it is also available in twenty-two other colors.
