It is a great honor to have been elected to the IIA presidency by my peers, and it marks a special moment in my 25-year career in internal audit.
McLean, VA (PRWEB) November 29, 2011
MorganFranklin Corporation, a business and technology consulting firm that delivers financial management, performance improvement, and national security solutions to industry and government clients, today announced that Dave Reynolds, Director at MorganFranklin Limited in London, has been elected president of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in the UK and Ireland. In this role, Reynolds will head the 8,000-member UK and Ireland institute, which is affiliated with the global Institute of Internal Auditors representing more than 160,000 members across 165 countries and territories.
“It is a great honor to have been elected to the IIA presidency by my peers, and it marks a special moment in my 25-year career in internal audit. I have been fortunate to have had the support of MorganFranklin throughout my time working with the institute,” Reynolds said, noting the important role that internal audit plays amid current economic conditions. “The institute has done an impressive job over the past 18 months delivering an influencing strategy aimed at making clear our role and purpose in the world of corporate governance. I aim to help the institute move its strategic thrust to develop clearer policy positions around key areas such as our relationship with regulators, external audit, boards and audit committees, and risk management functions.”
As Director at MorganFranklin Limited in London, Reynolds brings a wealth of knowledge on international trends and standards in internal audit. He is well regarded in the international internal audit community, and has worked extensively in Europe, India, and the U.S. Prior to joining MorganFranklin in 2007, Reynolds served for three years as Director of Internal Audit & Regulatory Compliance (DIARC) at BT, plc. Over the course of his career with the global telecommunications services company, Reynolds was recognized by the BT board for his significant contribution to the development of the company’s governance structures and processes, including enterprise risk management control self-assessment, audit committee reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) assessment procedures.
Reynolds is well known in West European internal audit circles and speaks regularly on the professional conferencing circuit. He also held the position of visiting lecturer in Governance and Internal Audit at Nijenrode University in the Netherlands for three years. Before being elected president of the IIA, Reynolds previously served as a council member and chairman of the institute’s Scottish district. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences, including economics and human geography, from The Open University.
The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors plays a central role in the internal auditing profession in Europe through its involvement with the European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing. The IIA is the only professional body focused exclusively on internal auditing, and its members are passionate about supporting, promoting, and training professionals who work in the field. The IIA has been leading the profession of internal auditing for more than 60 years and was granted its Royal Charter in 2010. To learn more, visit http://www.iia.org.uk.
